About The Founder
Tarot Unmasked was created by a lifelong creative whose work has always centred around storytelling, emotion, and human insight.
Before creating Tarot Unmasked, Neelu Sarkar spent nearly a decade working as a professional makeup artist in the Bollywood film & TV industry, an experience that shaped her understanding of visual language, transformation, detail, and emotional expression.
She later transitioned back into writing – she had always been prone to devour literature and form her own in her formative years – independently publishing a self-improvement book, before moving into fiction. Her work now focuses primarily on romance and fantasy fiction, where character psychology, symbolism, emotional tension, and intuitive storytelling remain central themes.
Tarot eventually re-entered her life through a personal frustration shared by many beginners: traditional decks often felt unnecessarily difficult to approach. Endless guidebooks, memorisation, and inaccessible presentation created distance between the reader, and the cards themselves.
Tarot Unmasked was created to change that. Combining intuitive usability with refined visual design, the deck was built to make tarot feel clearer, more approachable, and more engaging without sacrificing depth or beauty.
The result is a deck designed not only to be admired, but to be understood.
